Robert E. Marmor, Attorney at Law, Certified Family Law Specialist*

Issues of divorce, child custody, and property division take a large toll on the emotional and financial well-being of all involved. At the Law Offices of Robert E. Marmor, I help my clients deal with the troublesome issues surrounding divorce so they can begin to build new, positive lives for themselves and their children.

One of the most important skills I bring to a divorce case is my ability to bring cool and calm to heated divorce situations. I also bring more than 25 years of divorce law experience to my cases. * I am certified as a Family Law Specialist by the California State Bar, Board of Legal Specialization. If needed to protect my client's interests, I have the skills to vigorously represent my client in court.

I often handle divorce cases involving complex issues of property, custody, and support.

Focusing on the Future

In dealing with the issues of divorce, child custody, and division of property, I try to focus my clients’ attention on the future, rather than the past. Working as a Sonoma County divorce lawyer over many years, I have found that how a person moves through the process of divorce greatly impacts how successful they and their children will be in life after the divorce.

Different Approaches for Different Situations

Because every divorce is different, I work closely with my clients to create a strategy and plan that meets their needs and protects their interests. In my practice I use a number of legal methods to achieve my clients’ objectives. In some situations, a positive divorce settlement can be achieved through a calm, cooperative approach. In such situations the collaborative process may be ideal. Other divorces require a firm stand and court action to obtain a result that protects my client’s rights and the best interests of the children.

In my work in family law my goals are to avoid unnecessary cost and unnecessary conflict. As a remarried father of two children and two step-children, I understand the emotional and financial stresses that accompany divorce. My personal experiences, my legal training, and years of family practice enable me to provide practical and invaluable guidance to my clients.

Assisting me in my practice is my legal assistant, Laurie Wesler, who has worked with children and families for over 25 years and is a licensed school counselor. She brings her own experience, sensitivity, understanding, and knowledge to each case. In situations where children face emotional difficulties as a result of family or marital strife, she can provide valuable information and insight.
